The Little Humbugs: The idea
The inspiration for the Little Humbugs grew from a desire to connect children back to nature. When children have experienced the Magic of nature they will want to protect it. First, we need to get the children outside – allow them the freedom to play, explore and discover.
The Little Humbugs were created to tell a compelling story on how we need to care for the environment and to live in harmony with the Natural World. Through engaging characters, the power of words and images and interactive play, our goal is to connect children with nature and inspire and empower them to create change.
As a mother of 3, I have always had two major concerns: children are spending far less time playing outdoors than ever before; the Natural Environment around us is constantly being plundered and despoiled.
As a child, I reveled in the magic of Mother Nature. As a parent, I feel driven to protect it.
I want my children and the generations that follow to inherit the same privileges that I once enjoyed. As a children’s author and illustrator I hope to inspire children to embrace the outdoors and experience for themselves, how wonderful Mother Nature can be.
My desire is that children will want to join the Little Humbugs outdoors, having fun with nature and understand that they are very much a part of the natural world; This led me to create “The Little Humbugs” a children’s superhero brand, focused on nature, our environment and the natural world; Children’s Nature-warriors, if you will.

Simple yet powerful tools:
The storybooks immerse the reader into the world of the Little Humbugs and reveals to the young child just how important it is to look after the natural world they inhabit and that they have an important role to play in caring for it too.
The storybook characters (dolls) encourage interactive play, helping to stimulate a child’s curiosity of the natural world around them, creating a bond and lasting affinity with their surrounding environment and natural world through the Little Humbugs.
Wildwood Media’s mission is to get as many children (and their parents) excited about wanting to help look after the natural world and their surrounding environment, by instilling a love of nature such that they will want to look after it.
Jasmine the Little Humbugs leader, Chloe the Gardener, Lucy the Bird Keeper, Nika the Gemstone Collector and Flint, the head Dragonfly Boy provide positive role models and encourage children to become ambassadors for the environment; to get outside, stay physically active and create a better world to live and grow in.
All Natural Lotions & Potions
Our latest addition – the Little Humbugs All Natural Lotions and Potions grew from my own concerns of the chemicals found in so many children’s hair and body products.
Like so many mothers I am on a journey....I hope you can join me.
Health Benefits: According to Health studies children are exposed to 125 different chemicals in any one day. Providing safer all natural body care for children will help to reduce that exposure in a child’s life and reducing the associated aquatic toxicity upon disposal or spillage
Providing an All Natural, environmentally friendly range of body care products from baby to Mom,
proudly made in British Columbia.
Children are playing less outdoors than previous generations, they are losing the connection with their natural surroundings.
