Small actions, like cycling to school or carpooling can make a BIG difference. There is at least one action from the list below that you can do to help the environment.

Don’t throw your old toys or clothes out, recycle them by having a garage sale, car boot sale or take them to a charity shop.

Buy local fruits and vegetables.

Help mum and dad rake the leaves up- Compost your leaves.

Encourage carpooling, share a ride to school and after school activities.

Collect rain water for your lawn and plants. It’s free and better for your plants.

Don’t run the water when you are brushing your teeth.

Replace an ordinary light bulb with an energy efficient light bulb.

Get your parents to wash your clothes in cold water.

Encourage butterflies to your garden/yard by planting a butterfly bush (Buddleia), or Lilac, lavender and other butterfly friendly flowers.

Plant a tree.

Use cloth bags for your grocery shopping instead of plastic carrier bags.
